I have no idea what I'm actually trying to get at! Well, it started as one thing and led to another. This is, I'm warning you, unedited or anything, but the paragraph breaks came in while I was writing, so I could kind of organize my thoughts (oxy-moronic much?). Voila.
No one's posting sooooo, here's one of those infamous challenges. Try it, please, or at least post something, anything.
Challenge #3 Stream of consciousness - just write whatever comes to mind without stopping to correct or structure anything. Just get out whatever you're thinking. Feel free to post it as is, or go back and structure it into a piece. Whatever you like.
No one's updated in ages, so I'm going to post. Both pieces are just little observation bits I scribbled down as they came to me, nothing spectacular. Just sort of an idea of what was going on inside my head at the time.
hello, I found this to be a rather intriguing community and (obviously) decided to join. I took a creative writing class last fall and we did some variation of "challenges", which I really liked, so I'm pretty excited. I love reading others' writing and sharing my own..
I just wrote this, so it's pretty rough and not my best and blah blah blah.. but hey, at least you have something to give you an idea of what my writing style is like... right?
Hi. I'm Hae Jung - also known as "Hey hae," "hj," "Hae J," and "that Asian girl."
But all jokes aside, I thought this community was pretty spiffy (and Ste is a pretty spiffy girl herself) so I am trying it out. I've gotta tell you though: I'm a much bigger fan of good literature than I am a creator of it. So, here goes.
My stuff is relatively rough and unprepared. Feel absolutely uninhibited when it comes to giving me constructive criticism. I'll take it well and then pummel you on a separate occasion.
Oh, did I mention that I'm filled with bitter cynicism and caustic sarcasm?
As one of the resident mods here, I've got a couple points of notice.
Hae J brought up an important point, do we *have* to respond to challenges or can we just post anything? And after some thought, it came down to this: the point of this community is to get us writing, right? So the challenges are more for those of us who are stuck and thus not posting. They're there mostly to get people to post *something*. So if you're working on pieces on your own, then post those. That's fine.
Other point being, we are trying to expand this community. So if you know anyone who loves writing, then please ask them to join.
